A VERY RARE ICON DEPICTING THE SEVENTH ECUMENICAL COUNCIL Russian, 19th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely painted in great detail on a gold ground. The icon depicts the Seventh Ecumenical Council and the restoration of the veneration of icons. Minor retouching. 30.9 x 26.4 cm.
