Description
A VERY FINE ICON SHOWING A CHURCH ICONOSTASIS Russian, Palekh, circa 1800 Tempera on wood panel. Painted with detail, the iconostasis divided into six tiers, the local tier centered with the Royal Door, the second one displaying church feasts, the next three depicting saints, prophets and forefathers, crowned with the Crucifixion surrounded by scenes of the Passion. Minor vertical crack and border restored. 35.4 x 30.8 cm.
