A VERY FINE ICON SHOWING THE MOTHER OF GOD OF THE KIEV CAVES WITH A SILVER-GILT RIZA Russian, 18th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Ivan Leontiev Lakomkin, 1787 (riza) Tempera on wood panel. Finely executed in great detail. All decorated with chrysography, all bearing gilt haloes. The gilded silver riza and the haloes engraved with scrolling foliage. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard, alderman's mark and master's mark 'IL' in Cyrillic. Partially restored. 35.6 x 31.5 cm.
