A VERY FINE ICON OF SAINT SIMEON THE GOD-BEARER Russian, Moscow, probably Nikolai Sergeyevich Emelianov, circa 1910 Tempera on wood panel with double kovcheg, delicate chrysography. Very fine modeling of the flesh tones in shades of brown. Richly structured depiction of Christ's garment with gold highlights. Edges slightly rubbed, minor retouching. 31 x 25.9 cm.
