A VERY FINE ICON OF SAINT NICHOLAS OF MYRA WITH SILVER-GILT RIZA IN A KIOT Russian, 19th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Dmitri Maksimovich Schelaputin, 1896-1908 (riza) Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg, partly gilded. The riza of heavy silver-gilt, repoussé and with champlevé enamel plaques. Struck with assayer's mark, '84' standard and master's mark 'D. Schelaputin' in Cyrillic. Partly restored. 31 x 26.5 cm (excluding glazed kiot).
