A VERY FINE DATED ICON SHOWING ST. MARY OF EGYPT Russian, dated 1835 / 1841 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The detailed composition executed delicately with saturated colours, on gold ground. The highly detailed saints standing in a rocky landscape with a river and a monastery in the distance. Two family patrons represented on the border: Symeon and Xenia. Cyrillic dedication inscription on the reverse, dated '1835' and '1841'. 22 x 17.7 cm.
