A PATRONAL ICON SHOWING ST. JOHN THE FORERUNNER FLANKED BY SIX SELECTED SAINTS Russian, circa 1875 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The saints represented frontal in full-length. The background and border gilded and incised to resemble a chased gilded silver oklad. Minor paint losses. 35.3 x 30.8 cm.
