A MONUMENTAL, RARE AND VERY FINE ICON OF THE NEW TESTAMENT TRINITY WITH ARCHANGELS Russian, Nevyansk, 19th century Egg tempera on gesso on wood, laid down on wood panel. Haloes and border gilded. An exceptionally detailed and multi-figured composition of outstanding quality, enriched with numerous subsidiary scenes including the Fishing of Tobias, Adam and Eve, and the Mouth of Hell. A work of great rarity within the Vetka tradition, notable for its refined execution and complex iconography. Minor losses, partially restored. 75 x 57.2 cm.
