A SMALL ICON SHOWING THE KAZANSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH SILVER OKLAD Russian, Moscow, early 20th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Semen Galkin, 1908-1917 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet covering. The silver oklad chased and engraved with scrolling foliate motifs in the Art Nouveau style. The halo minimally damaged. Marked with assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'SG' in Cyrillic. 18 x 14.3 cm.
