A SMALL ICON SHOWING THE MANDYLION WITH SILVER OKLAD Russian, early 20th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Semen Galkin, 1908-1917 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet backing. With silver-gilt oklad, the background tooled, the borders with foliate scrolls, the halo with pierced rim. Struck with assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'SG' in Cyrillic. 22 x 17.6 cm.
