A SMALL ICON SHOWING SAINT GEORGE SLAYING THE DRAGON WITH A SILVER OKLAD Russian Empire, mid 19th century (icon), Riga, 1846 (oklad) Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Gold ground. The silver oklad repoussé with rocaille decoration. Marked with city mark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and Cyrillic master's mark 'MBS'. Minor losses to the paint layer. 17.8 x 14.4 cm.
