A SMALL ICON SHOWING CHRIST PANTOKRATOR WITH A SILVER-GILT AND ENAMEL OKLAD Russian, circa 1900 (icon), Russian, Moscow, Semen Galkin, 1896-1908 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet backing. Christ realistically painted, raising his right hand in benediction and holding champlevé enamel Gospels in left hand. Overlaid with a silver-gilt oklad. With a varicoloured cloisonné enamel halo. Marked with assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'SG' in Cyrillic. 22 x 17.5 cm.
