AN ICON SHOWING THREE FEMALE MARTYR SAINTS WITH SILVER BASMA Russian, late 18th century (icon), Russian, Kostroma, 1818 (basma) Tempera on wood panel. The three female saints including Sts. Catherine and Paraskeva, are shown frontally full-length. Executed on a gold ground. Overlaid with a chased and embossed silver basma. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark and 84 standard. Minimally restored. 36 x 28.4 cm.
