AN ICON SHOWING THE BOGOLUBSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD Russian, circa 1880 Tempera on wood panel. The background and border gilded and incised to resemble a chased gilded silver oklad. Six selected saints on the borders, the prophet Elijah and the Guardian Angel among them. The edges minimally chipped. 30.8 x 25.8 cm.
