AN ICON SHOWING ST. GEORGE KILLING THE DRAGON WITH A FINE SILVER-GILT RIZA Russian, 19th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Fedor Timofeev, 1846 (riza) Tempera on wood panel with double kovcheg. The silver-gilt riza repoussé and finely chased, all within a strapwork border cast and chased with foliage. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'FT' in Cyrillic. The background and border stripped to gesso, restorations. 31.1 x 26.2 cm.
