AN ICON SHOWING THE APPEARANCE OF THE MOTHER OF GOD TO ST. SERGEY OF RADONEZH WITH A SILVER-GILT BASMA Russian, 16th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, 1833 (basma) Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The borders overlaid with a finely chased silver-gilt basma, set with enamel plaques. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'FV' in Cyrillic. Restorations. 28.5 x 26.6 cm.
