A VERY LARGE AND FINE ICON SHOWING THE MOTHER OF GOD 'JOY TO ALL WHO GRIEVE' Russian, 1st half of the 19th century Tempera on wood panel. Finely executed with great attention to detail and vivid colours on a shimmering gold ground. Three family patron saints depicted on each side, including the Guardian Angel as well as Saints Cosmas and Matrona. Minor vertical cracks minimally restored. 53 x 44.9 cm.
