A LARGE AND FINE ICON SHOWING THE ADORATION OF CHRIST Russian, 2nd half of the 18th century Tempera on wood panel. The haloes and background made of gold. The faces modelled delicately with brown and lighter areas of pink, the elegant features more clearly defined with fine white brushstrokes. Their garments rendered in sombre green, crimson and terracotta tones, accentuated with gold striations and with gold decoration. Minor areas of retouching. 44.8 x 36.4 cm.
