A LARGE ICON SHOWING THE RESURRECTION AND THE DESCENT INTO HELL SURROUNDED BY TWELVE MAJOR FEASTS OF THE CHURCH Central Russian, circa 1830 Tempera on wood panel. Finely painted with complimentary greens and reds, the garment folds emphasised with strong gold striations. Two selected saints on the borders. Areas of retouching. 42.2 x 35.1 cm.
