A LARGE ICON SHOWING THE MANDYLION WITH SILVER-GILT OKLAD Russian, 18th century (icon), Russian, Yaroslavl, 1853 (oklad) Tempera on wood panel. Covered by a later silver-gilt oklad with embossed, floral decoration, with silver-gilt cut-out, radiating haloes, set with turquoises. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark. Vertical crack restored. 44.4 x 37.3 cm.
