A VERY LARGE ICON SHOWING CHRIST OF SMOLENSK Russian, circa 1700 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The halo made of gold. Finely painted, the face in soft, earthen tones, the garments' folds highlighted in gold, against an architectural view. Partially restored. 57.3 x 37 cm.
