A LARGE AND FINE ICON SHOWING THE ENTRY INTO THE TEMPLE Russian, Moscow, circa 1900 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely painted with complimentary greens and reds, the garment folds emphasised with strong gold striations, on a gold ground. The border decorated with engraved stylized patterns emulating the metal oklads of contemporary icons. Minor vertical crack minimally restored. 39.8 x 31.3 cm.
