A FINE PATRONAL ICON SHOWING THE OLD TESTAMENT TRINITY AND THE FAMILY SAINTS OF A MUSCOVITE BOYAR Russian, Moscow, circle of the Kremlin Workshop / Armoury Chamber, late 17th century Tempera on wood panel with double kovcheg. Painted finely, predominantly with reds, blues and greens and fine gold details. Among the saints are the Metropolitans of Moscow, the Apostles Peter and Paul, Saint Sergius of Radonezh, as well as Julitta and Cyricus. Finely modelled flesh tones in brown hues with red highlights. The background stripped to the geso, with areas of restoration. 30.5 x 26.8 cm.
