A FINE ICON SHOWING THE VLADIMIRSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD Russian, Moscow, Circle of the Armoury Chamber, circa 1700 Tempera on wood panel. The folds of the garments emphasised with strong gold striations and silver ornaments. The serene, refined faces executed in brown and modelled with the use of red and green shades. The background stripped to gesso, minimally restored. 31.2 x 26 cm.
