A FINE ICON SHOWING THE TIHVINSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD Russian, 18th century Tempera on wood panel. Finely executed in great detail against a golden background. The faces delicately executed with soft earthly tones, their garments rendered in deep colours, highlighted with dense chrysography. The border stripped to gesso, minimally restored. 31.5 x 26.5 cm.
