A DATED AND VERY FINE VITA ICON OF ST. NICHOLAS OF MYRA Russian, dated 1837 Tempera on wood panel. St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker, depicted frontally and half-length, surrounded by sixteen scenes illustrating events from his life and the miracles ascribed to him. The minute figures depicted in great detail with bright colours against a gold background. Minimally worn. 35.4 x 30.4 cm.
