TWO 3/4 VIOLINS 'W.A. COUPA' German, circa 1890 Two-piece spruce top and maple back, brown and reddish-brown varnish. 3/4 violin, length 56/55.5 cm, body length 33.4/33 cm. One violin bears the brand mark 'W. A. Coupa' on the back. The Coupa brand mark identifies an imported instrument from the New York music and guitar dealer John Coupa (known for his collaboration with C. F. Martin). Partially preserved and damaged; restored; bridge, strings, and string pegs are missing.
