Two-piece spruce top and one-piece flamed maple back, brown varnish, tailpiece with floral mother-of-pearl inlay. 4/4 violin, l. 60 cm, body length 35.5 cm. Inside brand mark 'CF Hopf', verso brand mark Hopf. With case. Violin bow, German, early 20th century, octagonal pernambuco stick, Parisian eye, nickel silver mounting, winding, thumb leather, ivory head plate, violin bow marked 'Albert Heischkel', partly bumped and rubbed, min. dam. Violin partly bumped and damaged, 2 strings missing.
