VIOLIN DIDIER NICOLAS (L'AINE) Mirecourt, France, around 1820 One-piece spruce top and flamed maple back, dark brown-reddish varnish. 4/4 violin, l. 60 cm, body l. 36 cm. Comes with hard shell violin case 'Original JAEGER Etui'. Didier Nicolas L'Ainé (1757-1833) was a formative master of the Mirecourt school. He based his quality handmade violins on Stradivari. min. ber. and best., ready to play. Provenance: Private collection Rhineland.
