'WALTER MERZDORF' SPINET Merzdorf, 20th century Pentagonal mahogany case (veneered and stained); hinged lid; three detachable square-section legs; includes tuning key and music rest. Height 88 cm, width approx. 170 cm. Marked 'Walter Merzdorf' on the front. A small-format 20th-century spinet from the German workshop of Merzdorf, featuring an elegant pentagonal design inspired by the Venetian instrument maker Giovanni Spinetti (c. 1500). Shows minor signs of wear and scuffing; currently untuned; keyboard complete; action functional. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse.
