Description
SPINET 'LINDHOLM' Probably Sweden, 20th century. Pentagonal body made of walnut, veneered and stained, 54 keys, hinged lid, three removable square legs, with tuning key, music holder. H. 85, W 160, D 64 cm. Inscription 'Lindholm' on the front, after the Venetian instrument maker Giovanni Spinetti (c. 1500). Small-format spinet from the 20th century from the Scandinavian workshop Lindholm, executed in an elegant, pentagonal design based on models of Venetian spinets from the early 16th century. The instrument is characterized by its compact size and lightweight, portable construction. Untuned, partially preserved and rubbed, mechanics complete. Provenance: Private collection, Düsseldorf.
