Cello label: "Ludwig Höfer, Fecit Coloniae Anno 1932". Ludwig Höfer (1899-after 1974) ran a renowned fine violin-making workshop in Cologne-Nippes and crafted high-quality string instruments based on classical models. A fine-quality cello by the Cologne maker, crafted in 1932 based on an Antonio Stradivari model. Part. bumped and rubbed; rest. Literature: Cf.
