PIANINO 'ROYAL COURT SUPPLIER CARL HERRMANN HINTZE' Magdeburg, 1907 Upright piano, walnut body, 88 keys, two pedals. H. 128, W. 151, D. 72 cm. Inscription on the front: 'Carl H. Hintze Royal Court Supplier Magdeburg', company nameplate on the lid. Carl Hermann Hintze, founder of the company (established in 1896), was considered an outstanding representative of his craft. The instruments from his workshop are characterized by their high-quality craftsmanship, clear sound development, and solid construction. This Carl H. Hintze piano was made in Magdeburg in 1907 - the special year in which the renowned piano maker was awarded the title of 'Royal Court Supplier'. This honor was only awarded in 1907 and was therefore only noted on the company nameplate of instruments made in that year. Hintze held a total of eleven titles as purveyor to the royal court. Well-maintained original condition with normal signs of age, untuned, function not tested. A preview is possible by arrangement and only by prior appointment; the location is 74740 Adelsheim.
