LARGE, FINE CYLINDER MUSIC BOX WITH SIX BELLS AND DRUMS Switzerland, Sainte-Croix, c. 1880-1890 Rectangular fine-wood case featuring elaborate floral marquetry on the lid; internal glass dust cover; spring-driven cylinder mechanism. H. approx. 26 cm, W. 58.5 cm, D. 32 cm. Movement plate bears the manufacturer's mark 'SW' (Samuel Junod / Mermod Frères) within an oval and the serial number 2648. Cylinder music box with additional orchestrion features, including six engraved brass bells and a drum. Part. bumped and rubbed, mechanism starts when engaged.
