RÉCAMIÈRE 'AUX CYGNES' France, 19th century Mahogany, veneered, with gilded brass appliqués and carved swan heads, upholstered. H. 92, L. 182, D. 67 cm. Model after François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (1770-1841, Paris). On four curved sphinx feet, elegant récamière with rectangular body and straight frame, sides with rolled swan necks, gilded palmettes, garlands, and decorative frieze. Partially bumped, minor damage.
