PYRAMID-SHAPED BIEDERMEIER WRITING SECRETARY Berlin or Kassel, around 1815 Mahogany veneered on fir wood, polished. H. 143, W. 90, D. 53 cm. Rare Biedermeier furniture in pyramid/trapezoidal design: High rectangular body with two lower doors. Central hinged writing surface with elaborately crafted interior behind. Columns made of stained olive wood, original printed brass fittings. Upper drawer and protruding top panel. Partially restored. Literature: See Heinrich Kreisel - Die Kunst des Deutschen Möbels, Volume III, Munich, 1973, No. 407/408 - Kassel Schloss Wilhelmsthal.
