ERNST BARLACH 1870 Wedel - 1938 Rostock 'KISSING COUPLE I' (1921) Bronze, dark brown patina, with a closed back. 17,6 x 17 x 9,5 cm, 2,2 kg. Signed lower left 'E. Barlach', with foundry mark 'H.Noack, Berlin'. One of a total of 20 copies cast after 1930, some in posthumous edition. Minimal traces of oxidation on the side. Literature: Laur 322, Schult 251. Expertise: copy of invoice from Kunsthaus Binhold, Cologne (1997) is available. Provenance: Rhenish Private collection.
