SEBASTIAN MÜNSTER 1488 Nieder-Ingelheim - 1552 Basel 'FRANCKFURT AM MAYN DIE FÜRNEMBST UND GEMEINEST GEWERBSTATT TEUTSCHER NATION' (CIRCA 1575) Woodcut, hand-colored, on paper, with center fold. Image size 26.5 x 40 cm (framed 44 x 57 x 1.5 cm). Browned, stained, partly damaged. One of the earliest woodcut views of Frankfurt am Main, embellished with several ships. With a large city coat of arms and legends in decorative cartouches. From the German edition of Sebastian Münster's Cosmography. Mounted in a passe-partout and framed behind glass (unopened).
