JOHANN FRANK KIRCHBACH 1859 London - 1912 Schliersee CASTLE ON THE DANUBE 1893 Oil on canvas, relined. 38 x 50 cm (F. 59 x 70 cm). Signed and dated lower right. River landscape with a castle ruin under a stormy sky, featuring historical staffage figures. A fine craquelure is visible in the light areas, and the old varnish has slightly yellowed. Late frame.
