LAMBERT HASTENRATH 1815-1882 PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, 1859 Oil on canvas, relined. 93 x 72 cm. Signed and dated lower right. A gentleman proudly holds in one hand the "Gladbacher Kreisblatt fur Geschafte, Politik und Unterhaltung", which was published from 1853 to 1862. On the table lies the supplement to the Gladbacher Kreisblatt with an article titled "Weihnachtsabend der Familie Engels i. Barmen". Partially retouched.
