Signed "Th. Girtin". Each mounted under glass and passe-partout framed. Thomas Girtin was a pupil of his stepfather Thomas Vaughan and the watercolourist Edward Dayes. Early in his career, he worked as a watercolour colourist for mezzotint prints by J. M. W. Turner. In England, he was regarded by his contemporaries as one of the first significant landscape watercolourists. Provenance: Private collection, Dusseldorf.
