UNKNOWN SCULPTOR Active early 20th century 'VENUS ON THE SHELL (ANADYOMENE)' Bronze with dark brown and greenish patina, on a round marble base (H. 4 cm). Total height 41 cm, width 18 cm, depth 15 cm; weight approx. 7.1 kg. Unsigned. Full-figure nude depiction of Venus Anadyomene, standing with one foot on a shell and holding an ornamentally draped cloth aloft behind her body. Features a characteristic 1920s-style hairstyle and stylized drapery. Partially bumped and rubbed, loss of patina.
