ADRIEN ÉTIENNE GAUDEZ 1845 Lyon - 1902 Neuilly-sur-Seine 'TRÉSORS DES MERS' Bronze, brown patina. H. 57, W. 17, D. 16 cm; weight approx. 6.5 kg. Titled 'Trésors des Mers' on the front; inscribed 'A. Gaudez' on the plinth at the rear. Allegorical depiction of a young, scantily clad woman standing on a sea monster, holding maritime attributes symbolizing the treasures of the sea. Min. bumped and rubbed, loss of painting.
