EDGAR DEGAS (AFTER) Paris 1834-1917 STANDING FEMALE NUDE ('DANSEUSE AU REPOS, LES MAINS SUR LES REINS, LA JAMBE DROITE EN AVANT') Bronze, dark patina, on a naturalistic base. H. 45, W. 22, D. 13 cm; weight approx. 5.85 kg. Inscribed 'Degas' on the side, with Venturi-Arte (Bologna) foundry mark and numbered '4'; posthumous cast. Fully modeled figure of a standing dancer, with the right leg positioned forward and both hands resting on the hips at the back. Later cast by the Venturi-Arte foundry, Bologna, based on the model conceived by Edgar Degas around 1890. Minor rubbing.
