SEDUCTION

Chryselephantine bronze, ivory, golden/brown patina, on a marble pedestal (h. 15.5 cm). Overall h. 54.5, w. 20.5, d. 18.5 cm, weight approx. 16.67 kg. Signed on the base 'A. Gilbert' on the base, 'Made in France' and foundry stamp 'Eugblot Paris' on the base. Fully sculpted depiction of a couple in carnival dress, each standing on one leg. The base decorated with musical attributes, ribbons, cords and laurels as well as mascarons on the sides. Part rubbed and bumped, loss of patina.
