OTTO MOOS ca. 1890 Berlin? - after 1940 SMITH WITH ANVIL AND GEAR WHEEL ca. 1930 Bronze, dark patina, on marble base (H. 6.5 cm). Total H. 67, W. 44, D. 20 cm. Marked 'O. Moos' on the back, foundry mark 'Buder-Wiebrecht Bildgiesserei Berlin-Friedenau' on the back of the plinth. Expressive depiction of a blacksmith standing in front of an anvil and gear wheel, symbols of craftsmanship and industrial modernity. The powerful posture and block-like modeling refer to the formal language of the interwar period, in which themes such as work, technology, and productivity were frequently addressed. Partial loss of patina and some bumps.
