JAMES PRADIER 1792-1852 'ATALANTA AT HER TOILET' (LA TOILETTE D'ATALANTE) Bronze with brown patina, set on an oval, naturalistic plinth. H. 23, W. 19, D. 13.5 cm; weight approx. 3.84 kg. Inscribed 'Pradier' ??on the plinth; foundry mark 'Susse' on the side. A fully modeled figure of the kneeling Atalanta-clad or draped in a cloth-tying the sandal on her left foot in a graceful pose. Part. bumped and rubbed, loss of paint.
