GEORGES OMERTH Active between 1895 and 1925 'NOTRE DAME DE LOURDES' (THE PRAYER)* Chryselephantine, bronze, golden patina, face, hands and feet carved from ivory, on a square plinth. H. 26, w. 8, d. 6 cm, weight approx. 1.8 kg. Titled 'N.D. de Lourdes' on the front, signed 'G. Omerth' on the reverse. Sculptural depiction of the Virgin Mary in a robe in a praying posture, with a rosary and a rose at her foot. Part ber. and loss of patina, min. dam. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES Regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community.
