UNKNOWN SCULPTOR Active early 20th century MARY OF BURGUNDY WITH A FALCON Brass, with a gold-toned patina and fine chasing; mounted on a square plinth. H. 21, W. 9.5, D. 7.5 cm; weight approx. 0.91 kg. Unsigned. Full-length depiction of a noblewoman-Mary of Burgundy (1457-1482, consort of the future Emperor Maximilian I)-dressed in richly ornamented, late-Gothic style attire and wearing a characteristic headdress, holding a hunting falcon on her raised hand. Shows signs of rubbing and loss of patina in places.
