EMILE EDMOND PEYNOT Paris 1850-1932 'L'ANGÉLUS' Cast zinc, dark patina. H. 52, W. 21, D. 18 cm; weight approx. 4.37 kg. Titled 'L'Angélus' on the front; signed 'E. Peynot' on the plinth; marked 'Fabrication Française, Made in France, Paris' on the back. Full-round figure of a young peasant woman in a long garment, standing beside a sheaf of wheat, her hands clasped in silent prayer. Shows some rubbing and minor nicks; damage to the back of the plinth.
